Meet World Wildlife Fund
A renown and leading conservation organization for over 60 years, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) seeks to build a harmonious and sustainable future between people and nature through the preservation, protection, and promotion of the planet’s biodiversity. Their goals and programs are centered on safeguarding the natural world, combating climate change, promoting sustainable food production, working with those markets which are large-scale drivers of nature loss. Today, the WWF is active in nearly 100 countries with a 38 million person reach.
The WWF focuses its conservation efforts on six key areas — forests, oceans, freshwater, wildlife, food, climate — with people at the center. And in 2018, the WWF established the New Deal for Nature and People, an initiative that seeks to protect and restore nature for the benefit of people and planet by 2030.
In fiscal year 2022, the WWF received nearly $1B in donated income, a 4% increase from the previous year. Of that income, 51% went towards programs, 14% towards education and awareness, and 4% towards conservation policy. They remain committed to establishing the most impactful conservation solutions and partnerships, allocating 82% of donor contributions to these efforts.
