Meet Rainforest Action Network
With indigenous and human rights at its center, Rainforest Action Network creates strategic campaigns and establishes frontline partnerships, targeting the drivers of the world’s most urgent social and environmental threats. Across 60 countries, Rainforest Action Network fights for healthy forests, a stable climate and a world in which the rights of people and biodiversity are not only protected, but celebrated. To date, Rainforest Action Network has provided frontline assistance to over 300 communities in 40 countries.
Rainforest Action Network’s current campaigns focus on stopping deforestation, defunding climate change and supporting indigenous and frontline communities impacted by global climate change. Each year, Rainforest Action Network releases Banking on Climate Change — an annual report highlighting which banks are directly funding the climate crisis.
Since its founding, Rainforest Action Network has given more than $6 million in over 1,000 grants to indigenous communities fighting climate change. Approximately 77% of donations received go directly towards their programs.
